(3) Koalas
| Marsupials were the
flavour of the week. Each student choose a marsupial and researched the
relevant information which was recorded as part of their English writing
abilities. (Science, English)
Local library, school library, the Internet and a documentary were used to gather information needed for the koala write-up. (Technology) Detailed maps were investigated and parts were re-drawn to indicate where koalas live in Australia. (S&E, Mathsmapping) Some students managed an outing to Perth Zoo on the weekend and took some photo's of the koalas which they incorporated in their Arts project, designing and making a poster relating to koalas. (Art)
