Eritrea occupies the Red
Sea coast north of Ethiopia and covers an area of 93,680
square kilometres (36,170 square miles). It is bordered by Djibouti on the southeast, by Sudan on
the northwest, and by Ethiopia on the south. Rich history makes this place
worthwhile for a visit but one must remember that due to unreliable rainfall
and locusts plaques, Eritrea is prone to famine and poverty. Industry is
mainly based in the capital.
