Morocco is a great place to travel and is located at the western end of North Africa. It is known to the Arabs as al-Maghreb al-Aqsa. Morocco has a fantastic 1,835 kilometre (1,140 mile) coastline on the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. The Strait of Gibraltar separates Morocco from Spain. Algeria borders Morocco on the east, and to the south Western Sahara. The Atlas Mountains span three countries and extend for more than 1,900 kilometres (1,200 miles) across Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia.
