The Republic of Zambia is
located in southern Africa. It borders Zaire, Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique,
Zimbabwe, a tip of Botswana, Namibia and Angola. The country was known as
Northern Rhodesia from 1911 to 1964. English is the official language and is
used in parliament and in education. Zambia has an area of about 752,614 square
kilometres (290,586 square
miles).
