Japan's official name
is Japan but in Japanese it is called Nihon, or Land of the Rising Sun. If
you go to Japan you can't miss the major range, Japan Alps with its outstanding
peaks, Mount Fuji; Mount Ontake, Mount Aso, and Mount Unzen. Japan's five
major islands are Honshu, Hokkaido, Kyushu, Shikoku, Ryukyu.
Magnificent rivers
flow through Japan like the Shinano, Tone, and Teshio. Some of the
beautiful lakes are Lake Biwa, Lake Kasumi, and Lake Towada. If you enjoy
the hustle and bustle of busy city life, you may like to try Tokyo,
Yokohama, Osaka, Kobe, Fukuoka, Nagoya, Sapporo, Kyoto, Kawasaki,
Kita-Kyushu, and Hiroshima. Beware to carry plenty of yen, Japan's
monetary unit.
