Kazakhstan covers an
area of over 2.6 million square kilometres (1 million square miles).
Places of interest are; the Kazakh Uplands, Karatau Mountains, the
Kyzyl-Kum and the Muyun-Kum. In the southwest you'll find the Mangyshlak
Peninsula which extends into the Caspian Sea.
Kazakhstan's wonderful
Irtysh River flows north to Siberia; the Ili, empties into Lake Balkhash;
and the Syr Darya, crosses the desert to finally reach the Aral Sea. The
