Tajikistan lies in Central Asia,
and is bordered by Afghanistan, China, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan. It is
also often spelled as Tadzhikistan. Some magnificent high mountain
terrain includes the Pamir range, with Lenin Peak, and Communism Peak
being outstandingly beautiful. Several main rivers of beauty are the
Zeravshan, the Syr Darya, and the Amu Darya (formerly the Oxus).
