Timor Leste, is an island in
Indonesia, in the Malay Archipelago. It is the largest and easternmost of
Lesser Sunda Islands. It is about 33,900 sq km (13,100 sq mi) in size. It borders
the Timor Sea, and the Sawu Sea. The Timor Sea is a shallow sea, between
north Australia and Timor. Most of this sea is no more than 180 m (600 ft)
deep, but in Moore Trench, near Timor, it is more than 3,100 m (10,100 ft)
deep, and 560 km (350 miles) wide.
Atapupu is one of Timor's mountain ranges
that is well worth visiting. Some other areas worth exploring are Kupang, Pante
Macassor, Dili, Baukau, and Nikiniki.
