Uzbekistan is bordered
by Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Afghanistan. Its
approximate area is 447,300 square kilometres (172,700 square miles). This
dry, hot country lies between the beautiful Amu Darya and Syr Darya
rivers.
For ancient culture
and history you may like to explore the large city of Samarkand, which is
located in the Zeravshan River valley. The Tashkent Museum of the History
of the Peoples of Uzbekistan is definately an interesting place to visit.
Other places of interest are towns such as Chirchik, Angren, Bekabad,
Almalyk, Navoi, Yangiyul, Gulistan, and Yangiyer.
