Slovakia borders
Poland, Hungary, Austria, Czech Republic, and the Ukraine. Czechoslovakia
split into 2 separate states in 1993, forming the Czech Republic and
Slovakia. The beautiful capital city Bratislava, is located in the
southwest corner on the Austrian border and on the romantic Danube River.
Some smaller places to visit, but equally as interesting are Banska
Bystrica, Presov, Kosice, Nitra, and Zilina. A fantastic mountain chain
(the Carpathian Mountain chain) is well worth exploring with the highest
peak being Gerlachovka.
