The lovely Faeroes
consists of twenty-two mountainous, volcanic islands and are also known as
the Sheep Islands due to the large amount of sheep bred there. Fishing
plays a major role as well. It belongs to the Danish group and lies in the
Atlantic Ocean between the Shetland Islands and Iceland. It covers an area
of approximately 1,400 sq km (540 sq miles). The largest islands are
Streymoy and Esturoy.
