STILL LIFE DRAWING

![]()
Materials needed:
pencils 2B(light) 4B(dark) 6B(darker) and 8B(darkest)
eraser and ruler
cartridge paper
What to do:
Go outside and choose a still life object to draw. This can be a building, a chimney on a roof, a street scene or you can sit on a veranda and draw the inside of the veranda. Using cartridge paper start with pencil 2B which will make nice light lines to start with. Once you have the basic lines on paper start filling in detail with pencil 4B, continue shading darker areas with pencil 6B and 8B for the darkest shadows. Make sure you give your drawing a 3D effect and draw in perspective. To explore art a little further, check out our other activities in the Joy of Drawing area.
